Umberto Pepe is an Italian mosaic artist whose practice explores mosaic as a dynamic and evolving form of expression. A graduate of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli (Italy, 2022), he continues to investigate how mosaic can adapt to different artistic contexts, from large-scale commissions for public or private venues to more personal explorations. He sees mosaic as a medium capable of harmonizing space through the interplay of material, form, color, and repetition. His strong personal connection to music and nature continues to shape both his artistic process and his creative vision.

Within the “Albania is Biodiversity” campaign, Umberto is part of a five-member mosaic production team responsible for the handcrafted realization of the large-scale installation in Tirana. The project represents an exciting challenge for him, both in scale and timeframe, requiring close collaboration, technical adaptability, and sensitivity to materials.
