Biografia
Baldur Thorhallsson është profesor i Shkencave Politike dhe themelues dhe Drejtor Kërkimor i Qendrës për Studime të Shteteve të Vogla, në Universitetin e Islandës. Fokusi i tij kërkimor ka qenë kryesisht në shtetet e vogla, teorinë e shtetit të vogël, integrimin evropian, politikat e jashtme të shteteve nordike. Artikujt e tij të fundit janë përfshirë në The Hague Journal of Diplomacy, Scandinavian Journal of History and Global Affairs. Librat e tij të fundit të redaktuar janë të titulluar Sjellja në Kërkim të Strehimit e Islandës: Nga Koloni në Republikë (Cornell University Press 2021), Shtetet e vogla dhe Mjedisi i Ri i Sigurisë (bashkëredaktor) (Springer 2021) dhe Shtetet e Vogla dhe Teoria e Strehës: Çështjet e Jashtme të Islandës (Routledge 2019).
Ai ka qenë një profesor vizitues dhe ka dhënë mësim mbi shtetet e vogla në disa universitete, si Universiteti Queen Mary i Londrës, Akademia Ushtarake e Lituanisë, Kolegji Williams (MA, SHBA), Universiteti i Teknologjisë në Talin dhe Universiteti Paris-Sorbonne-Paris 4. Ai ka Doktoratë (1999) dhe MA (1994) në Shkenca Politike nga Universiteti i Essex-it në Mbretërinë e Bashkuar.
