Prof. Dr. Nebi Bardhoshi

Prof. Dr. Nebi Bardhoshi is a researcher and member of the Centre for Research in Social and Cultural Anthropology in Tirana (QSASK).  He is an Honorary Research Associate at the Graduate School in Regensburg, a visiting professor at University of Regensburg and former visiting research fellow at the Institute for Habsburg and Balkan Studies, at the Austrian Academy of Sciences.  

Over the past 20 years, Bardhoshi has been teaching legal and political anthropology in several public and private universities in Albania. With a long research carrier, he is the author of monographs: Border Stones: Customary Law, Ownership, Social Structuration” [2011], “An Anthropology of the Kanun” [2015] and “Ethnography under Dictatorship: Knowledge, the state and “Our Holocaust” [2018], co-authored with Asocc. Prof. Olsi Lelaj.  

Bardhoshi’s research interest is in the anthropology of nature, anthropology of law and politics, anthropology and the history of theory of social anthropology. He is the author of many academic articles and co-editor of the volumes; “Social Practices and Local Configuration in the Balkans” [2013], “Anthropological Kosovo” [2021], co-editor of special edition of the journal Urbanities [2017], and chief editor of series “Ethnography in Dictatorship” [2022].  

Bardhoshi is also the co-founder of the Laboratory of Visual Anthropology, and the Laboratory of Urban Anthropology, in Kamza.
